The Linglong, Guojia ling,
Laoshan granite terrain is the eastern most part of the North China craton and is
east of the Tan-lu fault zone, includes Sulu orogenic belt and Jiaobei uplift
(Jiaobei Orogenic Belt). These mesozoic granites represent the largest
base for gold production in China and greatest amount of Mesozoic magmatism.
The
NE to SW trending Sulu orogenic belt is 180 km wide and 750 km long and bound on the west by the Yantai-Wulian and Tan-lu
fault zones and to the south by the Jiashan-xiangshui fault.
Starting
in the late Permian and continuing to the Triassic the Paleo-Tethys oceanic
crust that separated North China and Yangtze cratons began to subduct in a
northerly direction.
